4 Stars Great Product
There are some really great recipes in this book. I have been trying many of them. I recently bought a cast iron skillet and a dutch oven from Lodge cookware and my family has been enjoying many new meals.

I also recommend the book “A Skillet Full” available here too.

4 Stars cast iron cooking
The book provided exellent recipies that guys can use for outdoor “grilling” on a double burner instead of the typical charcole method.

5 Stars Simple Yet Fantastic Recipes
I have been an avid user of cast iron for two decades and have used a variety of pots/skillets/dutch ovens/griddles for cooking darn near everything. I’ve used them for everything from cooking trout over a camp fire to making gourmet sauces for special occasions.

This is the first book I have seen devoted to the wonder of cast iron. But that’s not what makes it such a great cook book.

The recipes are simple, filling and very good. Everything I have made so far has been a hit with my kids and hasn’t left a huge mess of my kitchen. The skillet comes full from the oven or stove, goes straight to the table, and leaves empty. Many recipes can be finished easily in the short amount of time most of us have between arrriving home from work and when kids start howling with hunger. For those recipes that don’t, I have made them one night and heated them through the next with great results.

I highly recommend this book for anyone wishing to serve good food easily. That it comes from cast iron is an extra benefit!

5 Stars Great Book
This book is wonderful. I use it weekly and have given it as a gift many times.

5 Stars This cookbook is awesome!!
This cookbook is awesome. I needed to replace my old non-stick cookware and decided to buy cast iron cookware. AND of course I needed a cookbook for cast iron cooking. This cookbook has so many great receipes, everyone of the receipes sounds mouth watering delicious. I have already tried several recipes from this cookbook, and my family loves them. I’m so glad I switched to cast irson, everything tastes great in cast iron.

Lodge Logic Skillet

Made by the cast iron experts at Lodge, this revolutionary pan is preseasoned, so it’s ready to cook right out of the box. It’s perfect for making virtually anything from bacon and eggs to grilled sandwiches, pan-fried fish, and fabulous cornbread. Each has dual pour spouts and a helper handle.

Lodge Logic’s new preseasoning process penetrates the metal’s pores thoroughly and uniformly, so it looks and performs better than traditional home seasoning. You still get the even heating, superior heat retention, and inherently stick-resistant finish that has made cast iron cookware a favorite of professional chefs. Oven safe. Made in the USA.

5 Stars So far, so good
So far I am highly pleased, no quality issues and has worked great. Good price point as well.

5 Stars Excellent Pan!!
This pan is great! Especially for the price! After using it several times, there is no need to even grease it anymore. It heat consistently (as any cast iron should) and works wonderfully.

5 Stars Great Product
This is an excellent product, as has all the Lodge items I have purchased. I have found Lodge cast iron to be constructed of thicker material, allowing for more even heat distribution. I also like the flat bottom which allows for even contact with the new glass top stoves.

5 Stars AWESOME
This is my second piece from Lodge. I love it! This is a great skillet for 1 or 2 people.

The best thing about cast iron is the incredible even heating and practicality. It is supposedly a very healthy alternative to Teflon pans. The other benefit is these will last a lifetime, if you follow the rules of taking care of it.

Some folks on Amazon have posted some great cleaning tips. I’m not going to repeat them here. I will say it takes a little work, but it’s easy to master.

I made breaded chicked cutlets and they were great. They were done quickly and they were juicy. I also made an increbile London broil, something I never thought I could do it a skillet!

There are some great recipes on Lodge’s website and on the web. I wish I had more room to add more Lodge products to my collection.

My local Sears had the same skillet for $11.69!

4 Stars Good
Though I’m still not good at using this pan, It makes taste of food(egg, sausage, bacon, and so on) good.

I’ll really like it.

5 Stars The best skillet
I just love this skillet. I have been using it for three months now and I love it, would not change for any other skillets out there. It is non stick, heats evenly and works wonders. Perfect for the best pancakes, frying eggs, making grilled sandwiches. It is not that big as it might seem, but perfect for one large pancake, sandwich, two-three eggs.

Not heavy, easy to wash and care. Just love this cast iron skillet, don’t bother buying other so called non-stick or other products. My non-stick pants’ bottoms got scratched and that is not healthy to cook in them.

Highly recommend buying it

5 Stars Cast iron forever!
I grew up with cast iron and use it over everything else in my kitchen. Camping, home, BBQ grill, it works over everything. (Just don’t try to microwave it- you’ll lose.)

Cast iron pots have been around for hundreds of years and many are still in use after 200 years in this country. And why not? They work.

Cleanup is a breeze, maintaining them is easy. The 8 inch skillet makes 2-3 servings of food or sauce. Perfect for one or two people.

5 Stars 8″ iron skillet
What can I say? It’s an iron skillet. I had two larger and one smaller

and I needed one that was in between. The 8″ fills the bill.

5 Stars 13 dollars? what a great choice!
This is my first cast iron skillet. After trying it out for a couple of months, I totally love it.

I find it perfect for cooking one or two eggs in the morning. Because it’s so small, it’s not too heavy at all. So if you don’t like the weight of cast iron cookware, this one is not a problem.

Things like eggs got sticky at the beginning, but after several times of use, it became as easy as non-stick skillets. Even better, I use less oil to cook eggs with this skillet. A very thin layer of oil will do the job. Things taste same or less greasy, and it feels much more healthier.

5 Stars Good item
This is a nice mid-sized skillet that is heavy and durable. Hard to beat for the price.

5 Stars As good as my dad’s griddle!
I’ve known for a long time that the secret to good pancakes is a metal spatula, so that means no teflon non-stick for me. When I was a kid my dad got a two burner cast-iron griddle for Saturday morning pancakes (the one meal he cooked and mom didn’t). It always worked like a dream, and I have wanted one for a long time. Alas, we have a glass top stove, and I was unable to find a two burner cast iron griddle with the necessary flat bottom. I was overjoyed to find this large round griddle pan that fits my largest burners perfectly. If you follow the directions included with the pan for maintaining seasoning you can do a whole batch of pancakes for four hungry people with just one spray of oil. (I use a canola oil in a Misto.)

5 Stars just the right size
I use this for more then just cooking tortilla’s. It is also great for grilling sandwhiches and pancakes.

5 Stars Perfect for Indian cooking - roti, parantha & dosa.
A great buy for cooking rotis, parathas, dosas, omelets etc. I have tried making rotis on pans made of hard anodized, steel & non stick etc - which on high heat usually burns the food & messes up the pan. This griddle heats evenly & can be used at very high heat. Just perfect for indian cooking.

5 Stars Great Griddle!
I bought this griddle to make crepes. The pan itself is great…..I’ve been cooking much more with cast iron, trying to get away from the non-stick pans that don’t last very long and are treated with chemicals. The problem is when I have to swirl the pan around to get the crepe batter all around the pan. The pan is heavy for me (I have arthritis in my wrists) to swirl with one hand. It’s not the griddle’s fault at all. For anything else to cook, though, it’s great. Recently I blackened fish on it, then put the griddle in the oven to finish cooking. It turned out great!

4 Stars real good for fajitas
I recently started cooking a lot of fajitas… in order to get a regular Teflon pan hot enough, it was burning the bottom… this is excellent for it…. but….. there is always a but…. I am going to order the next size bigger just due to the fact I cook for 2… and I do onions, peppers, ans stake/chicken at the same time… so… need more cooking surface

Lodge Logic Serving Pot with Iron Cover

Lodge Logic Serving Pot with Iron Cover

For oven to table presentations of soups, stews, or beans. Includes loop handles and iron cover.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Perfect
This pot is perfect for simmering beans, making rice and cooking a vegetable side dish. We replaced all of our cookware with cast iron and since this is the smallest pot, we use it in the same way we would use a medium sized sauce pan. I want to get at least one more because I use it so often and sometimes when it already has something in it, I wish I had another to use at the same time. I would definitely buy this product again and with Amazon.com’s super saver shipping, it was a great deal.

5 Stars A single person’s dutch oven.
I love it. I don’t know why it’s a “serving pot” and not a dutch oven, but it functions just fine as one. Being a single person trying to stick to reasonable serving sizes, I find this pot to be ( as Goldilocks said) Just Right. The lid fits the Lodge 8″ skillet too, and I like things that coordinate with each other. It has the self-basting points on the lid, clever and functional!

5 Stars Lodge it top Notch
Love it and it will love you back.

Cant beat a good seasoned piece of Cast Iron.

Its pre seasoned but that only a start. Years of use will give you a slick as glass practically non stick surface.

I have several pieces of cast iron and use them frequently and they are seasoned very well and I love to cook on them.

And forget about what you have heard, yes use dishwashing liquid when you need to. Just dont let it stay on there. Clean it and get it off your Iron and dry it well and wipe with a little shortning.(Old fashoned soaps had LYE and that will strip your seasoning, but modern detergent in small amounts quickly used will do no harm)

Heat the skillet till smoking and turn it off and let it stay on the burner till cool.

Wipe out any excess and your good to go and on the way to a favorite treasured item.

5 Stars My favorite Lodge pot!
This is my ‘rice-cooking’ pot. I make brown rice a lot, just for me, and it is perfect for cooking one to two cups of rice. The lid fits snugly so, after I have put the rice into the boiling water and stirred it, I can put the lid on, turn on my timer, and not touch it again until it is finished cooking. It comes out perfectly every time.

I, of course, appreciate the Lodge quality and the fact that it is still made in the USA. All my regular cast iron is Lodge.

This is just a wonderful size. I don’t even put mine away anymore. I keep it out and, when not in use, I will put bananas, or other non-refrigerated produce or garlic, in it for cool storage.

5 Stars fantastic 2 qt cast iron pot
I REALLY love this pot. This is a perfect pot for:

Korean soft tofu soup (for 1 or 2);

Korean bibimbap for 1;

Chinese hot pots (for 1 or 2);

Japanese oden stew (for 1 or 2);

any of the Chinese claypot stews (for 1 or 2);

very very handy for how I cook.

The cast iron is able to cook at a low steady temperature, and imparts a really nice flavor to the food that I couldn’t get from plain stainless steel cookware or anodized cookware.

I really love mine. I am now looking to buy the 5 qt. dutch oven, so I can make my famous Chinese chicken soup!
